Tackle real-world sustainability challenges with innovative solutions

Toward Zero Waste in Life

In Malaysia, waste generation and inefficient resource management remain growing concerns in our everyday lives. From excessive plastic packaging and food wastage to unnecessary energy consumption and improper waste disposal, these issues are evident in homes, neighbourhoods, tuition centres, recreational spaces, schools as well as public areas where students spend the majority of their daily lives.

Despite the presence of existing waste management systems, a lack of awareness, limited sustainable habits and inefficient practices continue to contribute to environmental challenges.

As an upper secondary or pre-university student, you must:

  • Identify a waste-related issue within your daily surroundings.
  • Create an engaging video to:
    1. Introduce an issue related to waste management, including but not limited to:
      • Food or plastic waste, energy conservation, resource efficiency and more (You may use images or footage of your chosen environment to highlight the problem).
    2. Propose creative and practical strategies that can boost sustainability.

Show how small, mindful actions can create a lasting impact on others to adopt more sustainable habits to save the earth.
